Great ideas for running a Booktime event.

We've been sent this lovely write-up from a librarian in Thurrock about running Booktime events, its full of useful ideas and tips for anyone working on Booktime events for schools.

Read for My School is the new, free national schools reading competition from The Pearson Foundation and Booktrust, with support from the Department for Education. Reading for pleasure is at the heart of the initiative, which aims to generate excitement about books and cultivate long-lasting positive attitudes towards reading.

Teachers can now download a complete guide to getting the most out of Booktime. The guide provides everything you need to use Booktime to increase the frequency and enjoyment of shared reading in class and at home, and build parental engagement in children’s reading and wider education.

This year's story book from Warne, The Tale of a Naughty Little Rabbit, is now available as an interactive story book beautifully read by Tamsin Greig, with lovely music and animation.

To mark the delivery of book packs to schools, we'll soon bring you a new online story book to read for free on the Booktime website.
